TOURNAMENTS

  • Sept 18-20 - won the Uxbridge A/ E Tournament with a 4-1 record.
  • Nov 6 - 8 they traveled to the Flamborough Energizer tournament and won it with a 4-0-1 record.
  • Dec 29- Jan they tried their luck in the A Division of the Bell Cup in Ottawa and despite losing all three games, came home with some great memories and their heads held high.
  • Feb 5 - 7 the Blaze participated in the Oshawa Heritage tournament and were once again tournament champs and finished the weekend with a 3-1 record.

PLAYDOWNS / PLAYOFFS

In the first round of the playdowns the team faced the 5th place TNT and won that series 6 points to 4.

Next up was Barrie who finished the regular season in 1st place. This didn't seem to bother the Blaze as they swept Barrie in three games.

The win put them into the All Ontario Semi-Finals against Newmarket and although they fought to the bitter end, were put out 6 to 4 points.

This dropped the Blaze back down to the York Simcoe Semi Finals against the one team who'd had their number all year, the Aurora Tigers.
The Blaze had an 0-3-1 record against the Tigers in the regular season but they didn't let that stop them as they knocked Aurora out of the York Simcoe's 6 points to 4.

The win advance them to the York Simcoe finals against a team they'd already seen in the playdowns, the Barrie Colts. The Blaze handily won the York Simcoe Championship in three straight games.
